This whole year we’ve been told about the independent project where we get to choose any art medium that we have come to like and make a unified series of different pieces of art using that medium. For mine, I chose acrylic paint, though I didn’t just come to like acylics, I’ve loved them my whole life. I’m going to use the school acrylics to make four realistic, background based paintings with each one capturing a scene including each of the four most amazing figures in my life; my mother (of course), my kind friend, Tinika, who moved away, my lifelong friend, Kaila, who is endlessly caring, and lastly, my best friend, Chris, who could make anyone laugh on the spot. These people have given so much of their time, effort, and love to me and I really want everyone to be able to ask who it is in the paintings so that I can ramble on about how great they are and make the poor person that I’m talking to wish that they had a friend as cool as mine all are. But really, these people are really great, honestly, the best people I’ve ever gotten to know. If you’re interested in reading this next stuff, its pretty much about my design plans and information like that.
I’ve asked everyone that I am painting for some of their favourite colours and their favourite places and things, whether or not these places or things are from real life or are fictional. One of my friends told me to either paint her by her grandmothers grave or at a nice beach. I’m making their figures fairly small compared to the setting that they’re in so that I can bring attention to the things they love rather than just painting their physical appearance. I’ve talked with my friend Kaila about it in more depth and she decided she wants to be in the sky scene of Your Lie in April, a sad but critically acclaimed anime series, and she wanted to be wearing this pretty flower crown because she was wearing it the day that we took a really funny picture together. I’m excited to make my friends’ imaginations of being in their favourite place come to life, and I’m doing it on a nice, big painting so that they can see the whole surrounding world. I hope they love it and I can’t wait to see how it goes.
