Last blotches of paint on, it’s finally over! I’ve learned so much over this project and I can’t wait for all the free time I’ll have now that the paintings are finished. I had to last-minute redo the water on the beach painting because my mom accidentally dropped my wet paints onto the canvas so the waves are redone choppily, but overall the painting is alright. Honestly, though, I’ve come to have huge regrets in choosing painting just because I was thinking about how much I enjoyed painting as a child. I actually almost hate painting full pieces, but I absolutely love drawing and dabbling with watercolour, and plus- I’ve already made two realistic drawings of two of the people’s faces that I chose to draw. If I had decided to think harder into other options something like those then I wouldn’t be so bad for being a perfectionist because fun fact; I spent five full classes doing one corner of clouds on the sunset beach painting since I couldn’t get them to look realistic. But then there’s another side to my regret towards my chosen medium- I now really want to develop my painting skills at home as a whim! Then I will be able to paint portraits quickly without aching over small imperfections. It’ll be just like drawing a familiar object like an eye- I know where lighting belongs so I can quickly sketch it, and I just need to learn the same Overall, This project was interesting but devastatingly time-consuming. No more art-all-nighters!
